This is an action in equity by Maggie Riley Reed against the Lynches and Phillips, their tenant, for 40 acres of land on the middle fork of Contrary Creek in Lee County. She sought possession, damages of $500 (later raised to $1,700 by amendment), and a decree quieting her title and annulling the deed to the Lynches. By agreement of the parties the case was transferred to the ordinary docket for trial of title and the jury found for the plaintiff...
