Roy L. Buffum, a physician and surgeon, and Reginald L. Rankin were indicted for and convicted of violating section 182 of the Penal Code1 in that they conspired to use certain means to induce miscarriages contrary to section 274.2 Defendants appeal from the judgments and from an order denying their motions for a new trial.

Four women who were pregnant went separately to the office of Buffum...
