Defendant was convicted by a jury of the crime of robbery in the first degree in that on February 11, 1952, by force and fear, he took $10,000 from the possession of one Percy Welch, which money was the property of Julius Kahn and Earl Brodie, owners of the Club Royal. It was also found at the time, that he was armed with an automatic pistol. He entered a plea of not guilty to the charge, admitted four prior convictions of felonies, and that he served...
