This action was instituted by plaintiffs as owners and lessors of certain real property to recover unpaid rentals under a written lease. Martha Remmen, the original lessee, and Ethel Clothier, the assignee of the lease, were joined as parties defendant. Defendants filed separate answers to the complaint.
