Fred Johnson and Robert Glen Johnson, Jr., were convicted in the District Court for the Middle North Carolina District on the first three counts of a bill of indictment containing four counts. The defendants were convicted of possessing a distillery without having registered the same, carrying on the business of distillers without having given a bond, and making fermented mash fit for distillation.
