On March 1, 1942, appellee T. W. Corder, Inc., was the owner of a lot and building located in Oakland, California. It leased the lot and building to the United States, hereafter referred to as the Government, for a term ending June 30, 1942, at a monthly rental of $550 payable in advance on the first day of each month. The lease agreement contained a provision that the Government could renew the lease from year to year thereafter by notice in writing...
