The plaintiff seeks to recover the sum of $10,000 from the defendant for losses allegedly sustained in the conduct of flight training schools for the defendant during World War II. In the original complaint filed July 8, 1948 he sought damages in the amount of $80,388.16 under the "Contract Settlement Act of 1944", as amended August 7, 1946, c. 864, sec. 1-6, 60 Stat. 902, 41 U.S.C.A. § 106, and note.
