This suit is a proceeding in quo warranto. It was brought by the State of Texas on relation of Shell Oil Company and Shell Chemical Corporation against appellants, the City of Deer Park and its Mayor and Aldermen, to test the validity of an ordinance passed on February 5, 1952, whereby appellants sought to annex to the city certain property owned by relators.
