On November 18, 1950 the plaintiffs, Elon J. Wilkerson, Elizabeth Rodgers and Gertrude A. Crowder, were injured when the automobile in which they were riding collided with an automobile operated by Gulley C. Dowdy in Prince Edward County, Virginia.
