Plaintiff William A. Gust is the owner of a parcel of land located in the southeast part of Canton township, Wayne county, Michigan. The westerly line of this township is along the boundary between Wayne and Washtenaw counties. Canton township had a population of 2,111, according to the 1940 United States census, and is not immediately adjacent to any city of more than 40,000 population.
