Lloyd Thompson, the agreed common source of title, conveyed to W. E. Langley a 77.9 acre tract of land out of the Samuel Duncan Survey in Panola County, Texas. In this conveyance, dated December 6, 1916, Thompson retained a vendor's lien to secure the payment of four vendor's lien notes therein described, which were executed by Langley to Thompson.
