At about 11:30 o'clock on the morning of August 16, 1950, plaintiff, Mrs. Sadie L. Ensminger, who had been a passenger for hire on a Jackson Avenue bus of defendant, New Orleans Public Service, Inc., fell as she attempted to alight from the bus at the downtown river corner of Jackson and St. Charles Avenues, in New Orleans. She claims that the bus was not driven close alongside the curb of the sidewalk to the customary alighting place for passengers...
