The barge Carryall, while in tow by the tug Syosset, collided with the tanker Tycol. The owner of the tanker, Tide Water Associated Oil Company, libeled the barge and tug and their owner, Woodford J. Townsend. The latter, in turn, libeled the tanker and its owner. The cases were consolidated for trial, following which the district court held both the tanker and the tug at fault and decreed an equal division of damages. Townsend has appealed...
