On June 11, 1946, the plaintiff, at that time a partnership but later incorporated, entered into a contract with the United States Army Quartermaster Corps for the manufacture of 40,000 army overcoats for a unit price of $22.75 per garment. The informal bid of plaintiff included a breakdown of the items of cost and profit upon which the bid price of $22.75 was based.
