This is the second trial of an action brought under the Jones Act, 46 U.S. C.A. § 688, to recover damages for the death of the plaintiff's intestate. On the first trial there was a verdict and judgment for the plaintiff in the sum of $20,000. On appeal, the Court of Appeals reversed, on the ground that the defendant's motion for a directed verdict should have been granted since the evidence did not justify a finding that the defendant...
