On July 14, 1951, about 5 a.m., Albert J. Shiya was driving his car (a 1939 Pontiac sedan in which was seated as a guest Victoria Zieda) west on Orangethorpe Avenue, near Buena Park. Defendant Robert Hendrix was driving north on Walker Avenue, an intersecting street (in a 1950 Dodge convertible coupe automobile belonging to defendant Odis Reviea).
