Defendant, Charles Vernon Burnett, was charged in an indictment with knowingly refusing to be inducted into the Armed Forces of the United States. He is 24 years of age, and a resident of the State of Kansas. He contends that he is an ordained minister of religion within the meaning of the law, and should have been so classified, and for that reason, declined "to take the step forward" for induction into the Armed Forces.
