1. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant was negligent in maintaining for its members' use a narrow, steep stairway in a dimly lighted and slippery condition. The petition, properly construed, alleges that due to the general condition of the stairs at the time, the deceased lost his footing, fell, and sustained injuries causing his death.
