The defendant, M.H. Hill, was charged by information filed in the county court of Ottawa County with on the 11th day of August, 1951, "operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor" and "from a point unknown to a point at 19th and North Main St., Miami, * * *."

Trial before a jury was had on the 13th day of November, 1951, and the defendant was by the jury found guilty...
