On December 6, 1948, defendant executed a note by which he promised to pay to the order of plaintiff's testatrix one year after date $1,000 with 6% interest. One year later he executed a second note by which he promised to pay to the order of plaintiff's testatrix on August 15, 1950, $1,000 with 6% interest.
