Jay Simmons sued Western Assurance Company to recover damages sustained by him when portions of an oil well drilling rig owned by him and leased to White-Webb Drilling Company were damaged or lost in a blow-out and cratering of an oil well near Jefferson, Texas. The rig had been rented by Simmons to White-Webb Drilling Company under an agreement which provided that the lessee was to be responsible to Simmons for any damage or loss of any kind...
