After a trial by jury three defendants were convicted on four counts of keeping for sale and selling alcoholic beverages without a license in violation of D.C.Code, 1940, § 25-109. Defendant Stagecrafters Club was a corporation organized as a nonprofit social club operating an "after-hours bottle club", the facilities of which were available only to members and their guests.
