Lorrayne S. Raiford instituted this suit for divorce charging her husband, Robert H. Raiford, with desertion. He filed an answer denying the material allegations of the bill. The court, pursuant to a rule of practice adopted by it in 1949, and over the objection of defendant, referred the cause to a commissioner in chancery.
