Plaintiff below and appellee here, Maggie Mayes, brought this action against J. C. Penney Company, a corporation, hereinafter referred to as "the company", to recover damages suffered by her when she fell in the vestibule of the company's store in Middlesboro on August 18, 1951. Plaintiff sustained serious injuries of a permanent nature. The jury returned a verdict for her against the company for $30,400, and this appeal is from the judgment entered...
