A landlord brings this appeal from a judgment of $1080 entered against her in a suit for overcharges of rent on an apartment under the District of Columbia Emergency Rent Act, Code 1940, Supp. VII, 45-1610.

The tenant's complaint was that though on the statutory freeze date, January 1, 1941, the monthly rental was $50, the landlord for some three years commencing in 1947 charged and collected from the tenant rent at the rate of $65 per...
