This is an action by plaintiff, Lonnie Mc-Kenzie, to recover for the loss of his automobile by fire under an insurance policy issued to him by the defendant, Providence Washington Insurance Co. At the conclusion of plaintiff's testimony, each party requested a directed verdict whereupon the trial court took the case from the jury and rendered judgment for plaintiff in the sum of $575, plus the statutory penalty and attorney's fee.
