This proceeding is brought by a former employee of the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs, now part of the State Department, to recover back salary totalling $24,276.16 allegedly due him as the result of a purported denial of his right, under the provisions of the Act of June 23, 1943, ch. 142, 57 Stat. 162, as amended, 50 U.S.C.A.Appendix, §§ 1471-1475, sometimes referred to herein as the Merchant Marine Reemployment Act...
