On the trial of this case the State was seeking to prove a confessory statement by defendant charged with a serious assault and battery.

The defense was insanity. Defendant did not testify. The usual and a sufficient predicate showing the voluntary character of the confession was the subject of testimony. There was none to the contrary. But before the statement was introduced and received, defendant objected. The objection was overruled and...
