This is a suit brought by a tenant seeking treble damages because of the defendants, his landlords, having exacted excessive rent for a room leased to and occupied by him. The suit arises under the Housing and Rent Act of 1947, 50 U.S.C.A.Appendix, § 1881 et seq.
