This is an action for damages brought under the Merchant Seaman's Act, commonly known as the Jones Act (Title 46 U.S.C.A., § 688).

The plaintiff was one of the crew on a tuna boat owned by the defendants. The boat left San Diego in October, 1947, on a fishing trip.
