Jimmie Lee Brown was indicted for murder in the first degree in Duval County, tried on said charge by a jury and found guilty. Thereupon he was adjudged guilty by the Court and sentenced to death.

The facts briefly stated are, that one John Blake Rogers was found on the early morning of April 24, 1951, in a filling station where he worked, badly battered about the head. He later died from the wounds that were caused by heavy blows...
