The plaintiff Jamalie Shohfi is the wife of the defendant Essa Shohfi. In 1925, she acquired in her own name a parcel of real property which in 1929 she conveyed to the defendant husband who then delivered to her a purchase-money mortgage on that property to secure a bond whereby he undertook to pay to her the sum of $10,000.
