The question presented by this appeal is whether or not Lane county may assess for taxation some 10 million feet of logs in the possession of plaintiff, Edward Hines Lumber Co., at its mill in Westfir, Lane county, said logs having been cut from timber sold by the United States government to said company under a conditional sales contract, title to the same being reserved in the government until the logs were scaled and paid for.
