The appellants challenge the jurisdiction of the trial court to enter judgment foreclosing the contract subject to the chattel mortgage, because of the failure of the respondent, Consumer Credit Corporation, to appear and answer. They contend that the trial court exceeded its jurisdiction in entering the judgment recognizing the chattel mortgage to the extent of $1,500 as an existing lien against the personal property.
