In an information filed by the District Attorney of Los Angeles County defendant was charged with the crime of kidnapping his estranged wife Zelda, while he was armed with an automatic pistol.

Following the entry of a plea of not guilty, trial by jury resulted in a verdict finding defendant guilty as charged in the information and also finding that at the time of the commission of the offense charged he was armed. His motion for a new trial was...
