December 7, 1950 the District Court dismissed appellant's complaint in an action for slander, on the ground that it failed to state a claim on which relief could be granted, with leave to file an amended complaint within ten days. December 18 counsel filed a stipulation that "the time within which plaintiff may amend his complaint or otherwise plead is extended to December 28, 1950."
