Plaintiff in the trial court instituted an action against the defendant on an account, claiming there was due him from the defendant the sum of $1,764.24, with interest from April 25, 1951, for seven cows sold and delivered by plaintiff to defendant.

To this petition, defendant filed an answer and cross-petition.
