On this writ of error granted to C. H. Lawson, plaintiff below, we have to determine whether his claim against States Construction Company, Inc., for $1,796 was barred by the statute of frauds, which provides that no action shall be brought to charge any person upon a promise to answer for the debt of another unless the promise is in writing. Code 1950, § 11-2 (4). The trial court held it was barred and, consequently, set aside a jury's verdict...
