In these suits, complainant seeks to recover ad valorem taxes paid under protest upon a combination highway and railroad bridge across the Mississippi River at Vicksburg, which it acquired by purchase from the former private owners in 1947; and, in the alternative, it alleges that the assessment should be not more than one million dollars, on the ground that the value fixed by the Louisiana authorities is excessive and discriminatory when compared...
