On October 31, 1949, Ruth S. Gardiner, the appellant, filed a suit for divorce against her husband, Mac Gardiner, appellee, on the ground of adultery. She prayed a divorce a vinculo matrimonii, custody of the fifteen year old son of the parties, alimony pendente lite, permanent alimony, and general relief.
