Prior to December 31, 1937, appellants as partners, under identical master leases, operated a chain of 28 restaurants in the bay area under the name "White Log Coffee Shops." After that date the appellants sublet each of their locations to individuals or groups of individuals, who, for the most part, had been prior employees of appellants.
