Essie Mae Hodrick, the wife of George Hodrick, a guest in the home of her mother at 508 18th Court North, Birmingham, Alabama, was injured by a fall from the front porch of said home. The accident occurred when one of the back legs of a canebottomed chair in which Essie Mae Hodrick was sitting broke through a rotten plank in the front porch.
