These two cases present the same issues and have been consolidated for trial and decision. They involve claims for the value of timber alleged to have been destroyed in the enlargement of a levee on the main stream of the Mississippi River. The first numbered was filed November 30, 1948, and the second on October 19, 1949. The demands were made under the Tucker Act and, in the alternative, the Federal Tort Claims Act, 28 U.S.C. §§ 1346...
