Claus Johannsen died intestate on May 1, 1948, leaving surviving his widow, Weibke Johannsen, and three children, all adults— the plaintiffs, Anna Elsie Meier and Margaretha L. Jessen, and the defendant, Eggert Johannsen. At the time of his death he owned 389 acres of farm land in Boone county, Iowa; a farm of 160 acres lying on the east side of a public highway, a farm of 149 acres across the road on the west side, and an 80 acre farm located...
