Mrs. Cooper initiated this action for a divorce. She asked for an equitable distribution of the community property of the parties and for the exclusive care, custody, and control of their minor child. By cross-complaint, Mr. Cooper asked for a divorce, a division of the community property, and the custody of the child. The trial court granted a divorce to Mr. Cooper upon his cross-complaint.
