The defendant, Earl Edison, a man 51 years of age, was convicted of the crime of rape of a female child under the age of 16 years. He has appealed from a judgment sentencing him to confinement in the state penitentiary for an indeterminate term not exceeding 12 years, assigning as error the denial of his motion for a new trial.
