Plaintiff in error, Robert C. Farley, was indicted in the criminal court of Cook County, November 3, 1947, for the larceny of an automobile. After a series of continuances, he was tried before a jury in November, 1948, and found guilty. He was sentenced by the court to the Illinois State Penitentiary for a term of not less than five nor more than twenty years. He has sued a writ of error...
