The state court of North Carolina acquired jurisdiction of the cause of action alleged to exist between the plaintiff and the defendant. Although the accident occurred in South Carolina, the plaintiff, by filing complaint and the service of summons and complaint on defendant, conferred jurisdiction on the state court to judicially determine the liabilities of the parties growing out of the collision.
