This is an action by Louise Van Cleave against Floyd Roberts for actual and exemplary damages for breach of promise to marry, and to recover money loaned by plaintiff to defendant. We shall refer to the parties as they appeared in the trial court.

Plaintiff alleged that she was a chaste unmarried female until about June 10, 1945, when she and defendant agreed to be married sometime in the fall of 1945...
