April 17, 1931, Frances Ankeny, age nineteen years, and Emmett J. Lynch, age twenty-two years, were married at Ellensburg. Frances was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Ankeny, prominent and wealthy persons of Walla Walla. She had been brought up in an atmosphere of refinement and was not required or expected to perform the menial and arduous duties of life.
